THE RESULTS - Stealth RR Day 2005

Recommended Posts

Ok then peeps Firstly I'd like to say a HUGE thankyou for all of you which turned up and braved the cold weather all day yesterday.

I think the day was an excellent day with a very nice variety of dubs (and a seat) turning up for the occasion ;-)

It was great to see so many people there even just random people tuning up just to take an interest in the day.

Thank you Han and the vibra technics gang for sorting the food out it was lovely and I think it went down a storm with everyone.

I do appologies for my lousy speach at the end though B) I'm not very good at doing thiings like that.

Well on to the results I think almost every one was chuffed with there figures and I must say so offence to all you vr6 lot but the gti possy with the 2.0 16v lumps certainly stole the day with some of the cars putting down some very impressive power.

Ok then the results are in order of BHP starting with Top

Yes the seat certainly did put its power down as obliterate everything else which was there :D I can see why the 2.0 conversion id the one to go for in the mkII it seems a very tunable and capable engine most of the guys have hardly any probs with theres :-).

Shame none of our supercharged vr's were about yesterday to show them was really power and beautiful sound was about ;-)

Shame i couldnt get there, looked like some interesting cars turned up.

Amazed at the bhp of some of those valvers, v impressed! Also interesting to see their torque figures are quite low. wonder how they drive compared to a Mk3 VR?

I can assure you those bloomin mkIIs all go like "it" off a shovel :D There all used my hardcore track day enthusiasts who love there mkII valvers and have spend years developing those engines to what they are today 8)

Thanks again to Claire for organising a great day down at Stealth, - nice to have vibratechnics there showing an interest in engine movement ( or not!) and for putting the food on.

My 2lt 16v has done a far few miles on Stealths rollers, someone mentioned it should drive itself on there yesterday ;)

184bhp from my old bus yesterday.

As Claire said, the mk2s are really good track cars but very compromised for road use, no climate control and nice leather seats in our cars..;)

We might have pipped the Seat for power but mine doesn't make that much torque (278). Have to agree with you about the sound, Claire. :)

na engines CANT make silly torque figures theres a limit unlike bhp which can get silly numbers

AMG get 738lb.ft. out of the V12 Merc and BMW push over 400 out of their 3 litre (alright it is a diesel!)

Sounds like it was a great day - bit of variety.

I'll have to get on the next one - put those 1.8T's in their place! ;)

Might need a volunteer to drive the car there though, what with my imminent ban &|

they have huge displacement :D:D and diesals do make silly torque figures

We really missed you there yesterday Mark didn't realise you'd got yourself into a bit of bother = 113mph I bet your little beast aint even got going at that speed ;-)

Hope you dont get to much hassle over it B)

I know, mate. I'm just being a nob - sorry.

Some of the turbocharged Saabs and Volvos make massive torque at really low rpm though.

Think the T5 S60 makes 258 at 1500rpm!!

I need to spin mine to over 4000 to get that.

(Volvo doesn't do over 300bhp though ;) )

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET :P

I've got a sparco race helmet if that'll pass as a chauffers hat lol :D

Cheers for letting us on quickly claire' date=' much appreciated.

Was good to stand outside of the car and listen to the engine roaring away, quite a nice unique sound.

Any idea on these vibratechnics videos they did?[/quote']

No worries

Vibra technics said they were gonna sort the vid out and send us the info so it can be downloaded straight from the site here.

We'll let everyone know once that has been sorted :-)
