Side skirts on or off....pics please!?!

One of my side skirts as recently split at the top and opened up abit and catches the door on opening/closing. So debating whether to take skirts off and see what lies beneath :S rust!?!?! lol

cheers matt thats cool, looks ok so may do it...hopefully not a mess of rust under them. I dont have arch trims....toying with getting some, not sure. Build thread is good fella.

I prefer the less plastic look on golfs. No skirts or arch bits.

But you'll need to take them off, if your sills do you need welding, which they probably do fella.

The plastic only helps collect road crap, mud and stuff, and if the skirts aren't there, they don't collect the crud, so its better for it really!

I went for a quote for a re-spray, and was told that they would need to take the sill covers off (due to having new wings) and that they always seem to wreck em as they get brittle, also when they take em off as they are crap traps, usually the sills are a little on the rusty side...my reply..." fine..."

Yeah im guessing they will be full of crap and rusted don. How much if you dont mind me asking, were you quoted for respray??

I was quoted between £1200-£1400 for a full respray, including removeing some rust from a rear arch. But I gotta change the wings, but the price did incl changing the wings and removing trim etc to make sure it was a proper job

Which seems good, still alot of money though isnt it, wish i had that too throw at the paint....its looking a bit tired lately!
