garrett281083 0
iv been told by a fw vr owners that have owned a few, that all there remapped vrs were considerably quicker than there non remapped. my car only has decat, and air indution. but 3 of my friends claim thats all there cars had and were still a fair bit faster remaped. but iv read alot of posts on people saying dont bother unless you have scrick cams etc. can any1 tell me from personal experiences the answer which i need. is a remapped decattted vr faster than non mapped decated vr. cheers again. Ben Seabrook 4
there is no quick answer really mate but tbh you will be able to get a few extra horses from a re-map (maybe up to 15bhp max) with only simple mods - exhaust, decat, air filter etc but the main benefit will probably the way it feels to drive. A decent map will improve that and give you a few extra horses make the power delivery seem smoother etc but you have to ask yourself if its worh £400 ish for that ?? considering if you then put cams etc on it will need mapping again ! J5KE F 0
As ben said really matey,Get her breathing better, cat bypass or back exhaust, decent air filter or ind. Kit then work out if ur going to spend big money on a blower or a few hundred on cams and a remap at this point.. All the first few bits don't necessarily require software adjustment, cams will make the difference or a schrick inlet manifold if ur planning to stay normally aspirated.Other than that allow 2-3k for a turbo or super charger inc mapping..
