ashmk3 0 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Share Posted September 14, 2010 i recently replaced my head gasket, and i managed to do stage 1 and 2 on the tightening side of things however when it came to doing steps 3 and 4 i just couldnt get the bolts to turn anymore and ended up starting to round one off what torque wrenches you all using and what bolts and what driver bit are you using im using halfords pro tools.im thinking that the wrench isnt long enough and the bolts are cheap and too soft. legvw 0 Posted September 14, 2010 Report Share Posted September 14, 2010 Did you lube the bolts and washers up before you put them in? They need it as otherwise they grip on the head and you won't be able to turn them anymore.I used a snap on 1/2" tech angle torque wrench, but it was my bosses an he let me have a play! I'll buy a new wrench and bolts and gasket again. I don't think I can run to a snap on. Link to post Share on other sites
