twolf1 0
i have just put new vr6 engine in my car, originally was a 93 reg but now running a 96/97 reg (one without the idle control valve).Heard alot of people say it is now 194bhp (from 174bhp)Is this true of just myth? Will a K&N really also add 5bhp or is this also rubbish? FishWick 21
OBD2 engine giving more power = FactK&N giving 5hp = Myth ;-)
twolf1 0
so if it is what they say (194 standard), how would i make it go above 200bhp - remapping the OBD1 ecu?
Rikki 2
So are you now running the obd2 management? as i said in your other thread the engine in a 93 is identical power wise to a 97! if you want more power find a 2.9 throttle body and inlet ( if you are still obd1 that is )
twolf1 0
Nah - still original management all obd1 (ecu, loom) just newer engine. (just gota put original throttle body from older engine back on this weekend to complete the engine)Some1 said that the newer one had about 20bhp more power. i take it thats rubbish then? How much extra power would the 2.9 version give? twolf1 0
(that is) 2.9 version throttle body
FishWick 21
You won't get 190hp from a 97 engine without the 97 ECU to go with it.
