yakuza racer 16
ok, so i plug in my monthly VAG com test, and pick up a crank sensor error code.. my car still drives normally, so what is the symptoms of a buggered crank sensor???
FishWick 21
OBD1 or OBD2? OBD1 hasn't been programmed to ignore a crank sensor issue when the engine isn't running, but OBD2 has.Symptoms = No fuel and no spark. When they are on the way out, they can cause very lengthy starting, or no starting at all until it's cooled down.
T0NYVR6 2
Where is the Crank sensor located? I only ask as my VR takes quite a few turns before it will start up!

yakuza racer 16
OBD1 and it seems fine, starts up first time.... drives normal, etc.. so would it be suggest i change it since it's giving me an error code or just leave it be?
FishWick 21
If it starts and drives normal, it's not the crank sensor. As I said, if you scan OBD1 with the engine off, you will get a crank error because the engine isn't turning. OBD2 was programmed to ignore it. OBD1 wasn't.
