VR6 Specialist in the yorkshire area ??

Hi,

I have a Mk2 VR6 With A clicking noise which comes from the left side of the engine as you look at it Which to me sounds like a bearing Fault, Iv had a few people look at it but they seem to be guessing as to what the problem could be - Water pump, piston slap, tappets. and they all seem a bit cautious of doing the work! Can anyone recommend a good mechanic that are not scared of vr6s??

I live in Barnsley south yorkshire, so would prefer not to go much further than leeds or Sheffield if possible

try changing the oil and filter first off, it cures alot of nasty noises on VRs

Aren't the aux belt tensioners prone to going on the VR's? I can't remember but could be the bearings in that going.

hi i had the same thing turned to be the chains if thats the case there dear to have do ne i beleave i did my own theresay it cost about 700 to do

We have a VW/Audi/Scoda specialist who builds and repairs moddified cars, can't say I've ever used them as I try to do my own work on the car but the stuff they have parked outside looks top notch. There based in Chesterfield here's their link
