Are bucket seats suitable for 3 and 5 door?

I know its sounds like a newbie question but just wondering if buckets seats are defined by 3 or 5 door or if its just the subframe that matters?

Kind of yes, for a 3 door you'll need bucket seats that fold forward so ppl can get in the back seats (these can go in 5 doors as well) and 5 door one u would use fixed bk' ones

do 5 dr leather seats fit the 3 dr frames? i assume there is no mot issue if the drivers seat has no lever for letting in passengers. theres one for sale like 15 miles from me for a change
