obd2 MAF code and running really bad with no power

hi there guys and girl i got an 1997 vr and the maf code keeps coming up but it comes up twice ive changed the maf and still comes up! and it over fueling bad done 75 miles to 3 quacters to a tank but last month i done just underr 300 to a tank motorway driving tho! i got new plugs ht leads (new bout week old) the coil pack n cam and crank sensor are about 6 months old ive even changed the lambar sensor( bout a week aswel)! also i cleaned allt he spark plugs yesturday as there where caked in fuel and took her for a spin n she was good but left her running for about 10 mins b4 the spin! but today i started her to go to work she was ok rev her still good drove out of my garage and she was lumpy struggled to rev and smelt of fuel again! and wouldnt idle

any ideas

was thinking about the coolant temp senosr, the hose didnt ave splits yday but only had a quick look ave propper look when i finish work! but the coolant temp senor did pop up once the cleared it n didnt come back! but wouldnt explain why the MAF code keeps coming up n comes up twice tho

Splits in the hose would cause MAF codes because the MAF would read the amount of air passing through it, but then even more would get in after the MAF and a code will be thrown up.

Coolant temp sensor is only a few quid from VW so may aswell be swapped just to rule it out.

Yer I've had the air leak but it does really the same feels morelumpy but it could be tho

As from what you are saying, sounds like the Temp Sensor dude..

If the Air leak was still there, It'd run lumpy from initial start!
