NiNjaVR6 0 Posted April 11, 2010 Report Share Posted April 11, 2010 HELLLLLLLLLLLLPP!!! it seems all of a sudden but maybe there was a slight whine b4 hand... checked me fluid it was on Min so topped it up still no joy... from instant u turn engine over it whines with the revs like a shagged supercharger. doesnt seem to be belt/pulleys and sounds like comin from back of engine???? VR6Nat 9 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Share Posted April 12, 2010 Sounds and looks like either your belt tensioner pulley or water pump, best bet is to slacken off the tensioner and spin all the different pulleys and see which one doesnt spin freely and smoothly, that will tell you which one it is... VR6Nat 9 Posted April 12, 2010 Report Share Posted April 12, 2010 This guide shows you how to slacken off the belt, its a 5min job... http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?155363 obviously you dont need to take the whole tensioner pulley off, just use the bolt shown to losen it off and spin it while its in place, if its not the tensioner pulley then lean down and spin the water pump one...
