Question for all you forced induction guys and gals....... Chipped ECU ???

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I currently have my ZR1 supercharger on ebay and I'm getting loads of question about if it has an ECU and will it be included in the sale. I must admit I'm not 100% sure. I just wondered if anything could enlighten me as to the probability of my ECU being chipped. The car is an OBD II car on a P reg.

I have a receipt from Stealth for a remap but that's about it.

Can I check with stripping anything apart ??

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Or if they want your chipped ECU (and a stealth map is a good selling point)' date=' make sure you tell them it's OBD2 only and you could swap their standard ECU for your chipped one, so long as the model is exactly the same.

That's a good idea aswell. Are they any issues with immobilisers ?? or coded keys ?

When I had a ZR2 supercharger on my obd2, I picked up the phone and got a chip from these guys http://www.ruf-kompressoren.com/wb/pages/en/shop/kits.php They are the company that took over Z-Engineering, if im not mistaken. A little bad english over the phone, but when they replied on a email with my ECU number" 021 901 258" they replied and charged me around 100 pounds:)

Car was running perfect. I still have the chip.
