Question on "a good service"

I dont have much machanical knolidge so bear with me, but was watching top gear when they was trying to get a renault round the same time as a evo. Any way James said he gave it a good service inc changing injectors and increased horse power.Right im going on now does this realy make a big difference i basicly want to educate my self on low cost tunning and regain any hp losses over the years.

Well if injectors are partly blocked then you aint getting petrol thru so will be down on power.....so new injectors are a good thing, or getting them ultrasonically cleaned

where can you get that done craig? mines running abit crap at the minute might aswel get this done, ive got 440cc injectors though so not going to go buying some new ones of these. how long does it take as mine is a daily

How long have the 440s been in? Were they brand new to begin with? I doubt they need cleaning. Fuels are a lot cleaner than they used to be.

What are the symptoms? If they're Bosch 440s and it's a bit lumpy at idle and low rpms, you might have a couple from a bad batch that dribble. They're well known to be bad injectors.
