H13VYY 0
My dad bought a bmw 850 yesterday and got a little issue. I know its not a BMW forum but thought somebody may have an idea. The car has a automatic gearbox but it seems like the selector is all messed up. i.e. 'D' is neutral, 'P' is reverse etc. Anybody know what the problem is? and how easy it is to fix? mcmark 0
Most likely gear selector mechanism. If so shouldn't be a big job, depends on how easy access to it is from underneath.

H13VYY 0
do u mean the letters are in the wrong place or the gears ????the gears. so if you move the gear to P, it drives and it says 'D' in the electronic display when infact its in P. But the problem seems to have rectified by itself over the past few days. il see how it goes. thanks for the replys.
