Scott 0
haha i knew maf sensor was going to come up before i even read your second post - thats whats wrong, mine did that too and now the maf is completely fooked, 19mpg at 30mph....eeek!it wont idle now, loses power as soon as its warmed up cos its overfuelling like mad. I would say change the maf but try cleaning it, you need carb or maf cleaning spray, dont touch the gubbins with anything, even a cotton bud is too harsh lol, the tiny platinum wire is thinner than a human hair... Rikki 2
What do you mean drinks fuel...you talking about the mfa....if so it wont give you an mpg read out if you not doing any miles per gallon lol. If your obd2 it wont cut out plugged in or out as it gets the idle signal from the throttle body! What did you clean it with as carb cleaner leaves a residue which wont of helped the situation at all! Best to try and borrow one for testing then buy new....isopropyl alcohol to clean it...get it at maplins or ebay.
grafteratwork 2
Nice one riki I have had this problem since putting a 2.9 in grrrrrr
Scott 0
i always reset the mfa once i drive off, i leave it idling to warm up but it'll always give a crappy fuel calculation at that point cos you are burning fuel and not moving, and a low figure from idling will pull the mfa average down when you drive off, just push in and hold to reset it once you hit the road and you will see your getting much more mpg than you thought.
