Ian_rogers 0
Hi guys and gals, in need of a little help.I've just noticed a strange noise comin from the passenger side front when I steer, the only way I can explain the noise is with the word 'donk', it does it while stationary and turnin the wheel and at slow speeds, couldn't hear it at higher speeds but doesn't mean it isn't doin it. Anybody got any ideas of the problem??Many thanks :-)

Dazdub 0
Hello mate. Could be a wheel bearing, wheel ball and socket joint or a steering arm problem. Take it to a garage and have it checked to make sure.
bungy 2
Is it just the one "donk" or does it continue to make the sound as long as you have full lock and moving slowly?
Ian_rogers 0
It does it a few times whilst turnin, it's not all that loud but is noticable
spindat45 0
Mine does the same but more so on the drivers side. I checked the whole suspension set up and narrowed it down to the suspension top mount bearings. Instead of the bearing (which sits on top of the suspension strut) turning when you turn the wheel, the top cap of the shock absorber is turning and the "donk" happens when the spring relocates itself. I'd suggest having a good look at your suspension in general but by the sounds of it, you may have the same problem as me. If it does turn out to be that, it's advisable to change the bearings and the top mounts.Kevin
