[moved] Cold Air Feed Ducting

Recommended Posts

mmmmm might work but not sure it would make much difference to the 6-branch and have read various claims about cold air to the air filter tbh ! I have never bothered but it's relatively easy to run some silicone pipe http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/51mm-2-ID-Silicone-Silicon-Hose-Pipe-1-Metre-Black-1M_W0QQitemZ310197337040QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item483933bbd0 towards the air filter.

I did look at getting some bonnet risers to keep the temps down and didn't find any designed for mk3's but might have a go at making some :)

Vince did some tests when BMC CDA's were newish, a rolling road test with the cold air feed, and one without...

there was practically no gains what so ever with the cold air feed. There would be many people who didnt use there airfeed pipe for the BMC CDA for this reason, so maybe a wanted post is in order if you really want one, but personally, its not worth the effort :)

I've used my cold air intake for my BMC CDA and kept it as short and direct as possible forward facing. At speed this has to have an effect. Pressure and temperature of induced air will be different. Bhp may not rise massively but torque and fuel economy will change. IMO.....
