russj249 2
My VR6 is playing up at the moment.Sometimes it pulls really well at low revs and will spin up the wheels from tickover easily, other days it feels like nothings there and won't spin the wheels at higher revs. It's doing my head in now as there's no VAG COM fault codes and I can't think what it could be.Plugs were replaced about a month of so ago, leads seem fine as I replaced them last year and I can't see any sparks at night and coilpack was changed last year.A new air filter has been put on the other day to see if my cone was blocked, made a slight difference but now bad again.MAF was changed a couple of months ago when it finally packed up.I've run injector cleaners through and don't alter anything. What else could it be? Rikki 2
Change the blue temp sensor would be my next move and also clean the cam sensor just above the coilpack...it should be shiny metal...if its caked in sludge cleaning it will make you run better!
russj249 2
I've cleaned the cam and crank position sensor. What is the blue temp sensor? And is that the one on oil filter housing?

Rikki 2
Yea...it can cause running probs...and its only a cheap fix! Get it from vw though!
russj249 2
do you know the part number or the exact name for it. The VW by me are useless but wont let you point things out on the screen!
craggsy 91
Cant go wrong by asking for a blur temp sender for the VR6...and tell em the year
russj249 2
sounds good enough to me cheers CraigJust taken it for a quick go up the road and it's really pokey again now. sparkyjr 0
Would the blue temp switch cause hesitation when engaging clutch which is a ongoing prob im having?
russj249 2
ok haven't been able to go to VW yet as they don't deliver which is a bit rubbish! but also not sure if this is also connected. Reminded me earlier as it was doing it really bad.If i'm in traffic and say i go down the road at a constant bang on 2000 RPM in 1st. there is a terrible misfire that slows the car down and picks up instantly, but when I floor it, it seems to go.Does it in all gears.. also going down hill using the gears it's bad at a slow speed when i can feel it more. Just as foot is literally resting on the accelerator.
russj249 2
right.. was talking to my boss today, never mentioned it before but he said that his Ferrari Testarossa used to do it.He said to clean out the throttle body well and see again. Ferrari told him it was because the engine was coming onto the cams, but he used to work for Ferrari when they were new and know they didn't do that.Do you think this could be the same?
