VR6Nat 9
Is your water level low? What is the water temp running at is that normal?Could be heater matrix, thats a dash out job so not the best option... check the 2 hoses that run into the bulk head arent leaking and feel if your footwells are damp too... VR6Pete 1,455
feel the hoses, do they get warm that go into the matrix? could be an airlock.... thermostat, although you'd have other overheating problems if it was the stat.
russj249 2
could be an airlock.... thermostat' date=' although you'd have other overheating problems if it was the stat.[/quote']Thermostat stuck open wouldn't effect overheating but would make it take ages to heat up, and if driving down a road would mean cooling the water even when it's too cold.Do you get in the car and drive straight away on clear A roads or motorway or in traffic? If you leave the car standing running, does the temp rise at all and come through the heater warm?If it does get warm, take it down the road at 60 - 70mph for a couple of mins, see if the temp gauge goes down. If it does it's the thermostat.Mine used to and if I got in the car and drove from cold, even after 20mins or so the gauge wouldn't have moved off 70. To somebody who does this everyday might seem like it's only blowing out cold air.
