Hi all,

Im new to the world of VW's and im about to own a Mk 3 Goilf VR6. Cant wait!!

Now, its a P reg 1997 Highline VR6 with the usual 2.8 V6 egine.

Whats the difference between a syncro and a normal VR6 engine, and is one 174 bhp and the other 190bhp?

Cheers in advance folks,

Mikey.

The syncho engine is the 2.9 engine found in the 'rado believed to be pushing out around 188bhp iirc.

You're P Reg will be an OBD2 model VR6 engine and there are no specific figures for power output. But you should see anywhere from 174bhp minimum to some reported cases of 200+bhp averaging around the 185bhp mark though.
