Jonnyboy82 0
Decided to to do a vag-com scan on my vr6 today and it threw up a few codes :-(So i looked at this thread http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?161678.post to find out what they mean and this what i have:00281 Vehicle Speed Sensor - No Signal (G68)00518 P0121 Throttle Position Sensor - Signal Out of Range(G69) Also check for loose ECM power relay.00530 Throttle Position Sensor -G88So my question is although i know what the codes mean how do i go about getting them cleared and sorting this out?Where is the vehicle speed sensor and where is the throttle position sensor? Nex 17
Did you have the engine running when you did the scan?I only ask as l have heard that the Vehicle Speed Sensor always shows up on the VR6' if the engine is turn off for the scan. But l might be mistaken? Ben Seabrook 4
your correct about the speed sensor mate - if you vagcomed it not running that always comes up, the throttle position sensor is on the left hand side of the throttle body as you look at it.have you had any running issues with the car mate ? Jonnyboy82 0
I never had the car running i just had the ignition on whilst i done the vag-com scan.I posted this not too long ago but do you think this could be related? http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?319245.post
Ben Seabrook 4
well that problem could certainly be related to the throttle position sensor
Jonnyboy82 0
I have today cleaned the throttle body with isopryl in an attempt to see if the sticking problem would stop but no luck. Its a bit better but its still doing it.Ok so if its related how do i sort it and where do i start?
VR6Pete 1,455
Are there any other members in your area you could perhaps borrow there MAF to see if its still a problem?
Ben Seabrook 4
if you have a mate with a vr see if you can borrow his throttle body and swap them over to see if it makes a difference if not it's a new throttle position sensor mate
Jonnyboy82 0
I dont think there's anyone local who has one to lend me so its either buy a new one or search the classifieds or ebay for a throttle body. How much does a throttle position sensor cost? UnitedMotorsport 55
your correct about the speed sensor mate - if you vagcomed it not running that always comes up' date='[/quote']Thats only true of the ENGINE speed sensor on OBD1 cars. The vehicle speed sensor doesnt give an error just because the engine isnt running.
