Jordz 0
Hi guys and gals. Needing a bit of help, ever since i bought the car the handbrake/brake fluid level indicator has been on the dash constantly. To begin with it went on and off but now it stays on. Iv been to the local scrppy and picked up a handbrake switch and a fluid reservoir float but they seemed in worce condition than the other ones. Tried them anyway and surprise, surprise it didnt work. any guesses on what this could be?-maybe i should go but new parts from vw?Any help much appreciated, Thanks
CALICO 130
fluid reservoir float will only make a difference if there isnt any fluid a tiny difference will make it make contact but that is when the float is at the bottom of its travelHope this helps its cheaper to borrow someone elses whose car does not have this problem i wouldnt think its either of these items if you have enough fluid in the reservoir and the light stays on with the switch disonnected
Rikki 2
If its the orange round light.....it means low front brake pads? If its the red normal handbrake light it could be your abs has a fault. Vag-com it!
Jordz 0
Thanks guys. Sorry i meant to say, i just fitted new discs, pads and lines all rouns, so i know its not the fluid. Em well the light is red, just like a normal handbrake light(because it is haha). Em if its the abs, wouldnt the abs light show rather than the light iv got?-by the way, the abs light had been removed by the previous owner so no doubt when i get round to getting a new light, it will glow on the dash aswell:-|
Rikki 2
If it stays on it usually means abs fault!
