The Monk 50
Giving my poorly gal some new shoes and just wandered what anyone would recomend?I'm not talking about 500 for 4 new tyres either......I still want each to be in the double and not triple figures. This will be for spirited road use and NOT for track use....no I don't want R888's lol.Currently have cheapo nasty tyres on and going round any bend or roundabout means theres a 100% chance I'll die. I rarely reach 3000rpm in first going round smaller glazed islands as I've ended up recently facing the wrong way a few times.Opinions.....please

Ben Seabrook 4
no worries mate and there are plenty of other choices but lots of peeps seem to run these and like them - the only minor thing I have heard is they wear quite quickly but was not unanimous so happy to risk them have a look on camskill mate well cheap

jims13 6
kuhmo ku31.. 22 pounds each from camskill, as fitted to my turbo or toyo t1-r's which wont last as long, and tbh not that much different in grip.
The Monk 50
Well I've been reading mixed reviews about the toyo T1R and most have been bad.Not much change in grip, wobbling at higher speeds, slipping and sliding in the wet blah blah. It would seem that the people moaning about them expected them to be glue due to the hype.I ordered a set of 4 toyos.......not going to be here for 2 weeks. But £61 fitted per corner. But £61 fitted per corner.[/quote']That's a very good price fitted mate. I had some fairly cheap Nexen tyres on my TT Comps and they were ok. When I changed rims to the RC's I went for Toyo PX4's (£50 each from Topgear tyres), which aren't supposed to be quite as good as the T1R however even with mine now being charged I've had no problems with grip and I do occaisionally go above 30mph. As for wobbling at higher speeds, that's down to poor balancing, not the tyres imo. Some would say you get what you pay for which is true to a certain extent but I've read about a lot of tyres and spoken to those who have spent over £100 per corner on tyres and they haven't all had good experiences.Kevin

The Monk 50
dunlop sport sp9000.... same tread pattern as the T1r.As for the wobbling, there was some debate over the rigidity of the tyre wall.
