VR6Pete 1,455
decent VR for 600? probably not - complete cars for breaking are about that price.dont bother with an engagment ring mate, get a better VR6 instead
Jamesr_VR6 0
haha i know but ive been holding it off for ages, seriously debating a crafty credit card to take my budget up to £1600, but then its more debt, i could pay it off within 3 months, but im not sure
goonersteve 0
Personally i wouldn't want debt in the current financial climate. But up to you dude. I would make the missus wait
Jamesr_VR6 0
hmmm if i keep saving as i am at the minute i wont hve £1600 until at least this time next year finance on my car is raping me!!!!!and ive jsut realised im all over the forum like a fly to shit so im gunna stop posting for a while now aha

VR6Pete 1,455
if you missis wants you enough, she will wait
Jamesr_VR6 0
bank wont increase my current limit, and ive got a loan witht hem and thought i could top it up by £1000 without much hassle, but it would add on £96 a month to my current payments and would cost me over the rest of the term a total of £5700!!!!!!!!!!!! bleeding highway robbery lol
VR6Pete 1,455
closest your gonna get is something like this;http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?315046what ever VR you buy for that price, expect to do work on it.for that money, you'd be getting a project car, work on it over winter and then get it on the road next year?
VR6Pete 1,455
and anyway, your leading the VR6OC WRX Racing tounanemt, you at least need a VR6 to stick your prize in!!!
craggsy 91
Just keep saving if bank wont play ball.....as Pete says £600 VR will need work and could end up costing twice that any way
Jamesr_VR6 0
haha people need to pull there fingers out and beat me then!!!!aye i know whatever i get will be a "project car" but it needs to be a reliable daily user project car.Once my Seat goes back i'll have nearly £400 a month disposable cash so could get it pretty sweet within 3/4 months
VR6Pete 1,455
Look at my Corrado I've just bought.cost me 1.2k - its a non runner. needs head gasket doing, timing chains, bodywork, heater matrix. shit loads really. you get what you pay for Already got nearly everything I need to get the work done, as long as it runs, i'm happy for now, the rest will follow.... but you just cant expect to pick up a VR6 for 600 quid and expect it to be reliable, but then again, whos to say a 3grand VR6 will be reliable??? Jamesr_VR6 0
thats the thing, i need to commute from Rugby to Nuneaton everyday, dont care if it looks shite, through a few hundred quid at it and im sure it'll look fineeven if it need work within a few months of using it, i'll have the free cash to spend on it, first month id look to replace as many things under the hood as possible, clips/seals/pipes/fluids etc etcthen after that would be whatever else, exhaust, alloys etc
VR6Pete 1,455
Timing Chains / Head gasket / Clutch - take into account the biggest jobs - then everything else on top of that obvously is they aint been done already. but VR's are priced accorgingly if chains etc.. not been done
