Well after pay day this month i'll ahve a banging total of £600 in my VR fund and considering i need to have it by xmas (when the seat gets handed back) im not holding out much hope :( plus im trying to save for an engagement ring for the missus which is no mean feat!!!!

what do you guys reckon my chances are of getting a decent ish VR for £600? im not overally fussed if it needs a respray or whatever cus i ahve big plans, but i mean decent in terms of i can use it daily without it going wrong and screwing me over.....

bank wont increase my current limit, and ive got a loan witht hem and thought i could top it up by £1000 without much hassle, but it would add on £96 a month to my current payments and would cost me over the rest of the term a total of £5700!!!!!!!!!!!! bleeding highway robbery lol

Look at my Corrado I've just bought.

cost me 1.2k - its a non runner. needs head gasket doing, timing chains, bodywork, heater matrix. shit loads really. you get what you pay for :)

Already got nearly everything I need to get the work done, as long as it runs, i'm happy for now, the rest will follow.... but you just cant expect to pick up a VR6 for 600 quid and expect it to be reliable, but then again, whos to say a 3grand VR6 will be reliable???

thats the thing, i need to commute from Rugby to Nuneaton everyday, dont care if it looks shite, through a few hundred quid at it and im sure it'll look fine

even if it need work within a few months of using it, i'll have the free cash to spend on it, first month id look to replace as many things under the hood as possible, clips/seals/pipes/fluids etc etc

then after that would be whatever else, exhaust, alloys etc
