bazz780 0
what are the symtoms of your car? hesitation in acceleration??
grayo94 0
overfuelling and lumpy when cold, garage said will be running in limp mode until sensors replaced
acf8181 0
camshaft position sensor is the hall sender...you'll deffo know if thats screwed up as the car will a have significantly less bhp and will be really lumpy.i think crankshaft sensor will be the engine speed sensor. you will giet this fault code if the car was tested without the engine on, as it self clears once the engine is running.i'd phone them back to see if the car was tested with the engine on or off. also, were the faults intermittant or constant? grayo94 0
was tested with engine on and off showed these faults both times, car has obeen overfuelling and dropping power over time, judders a bit at low revs and has lost about 25bhp on rollers, also pointed to lambda but they said that was prob because fuelling was screwed up by other sensors, will nip down vw and see if they have hall sender
bazz780 0
le tme know how much it costs and where its located, might need to look into that myself sooner or latercheers
grayo94 0
spoke to stealth, they gave me the part number so i could get it from local dealer, 32 quid plus vat. refreshing to find someone who offered to give me the part number without gaining any profit for themselves, will have to pay them a visit and get the car on the rollers to see if all is rectified. mightyvr6 0
The crank sensor is big money though. If it was completely shot the car wouldn't start at all so it's worth checking the wiring and cleaning it first before comitting to a new part as it might be a poor contact. acf8181 0
if you're 25bhp down then it does sound like hall sender.were the fault codes cleared, then rechecked again?so many guys don't do this, so how do you know it aint an old fault code?!
