Rikki 2 Posted September 18, 2009 Report Share Posted September 18, 2009 As title really got an occasional clunk when braking after accelerating like a weight transfer clunk??? also knocks if you just press the accelerator quickly on and off? Changed my rear engine and the gearbox ones for genuine mounts recently so its not those. Any ideas??? Link to post Share on other sites
Miss-Vw 2 Posted September 19, 2009 Report Share Posted September 19, 2009 Sounds like it to me, my engine mount snapped the other week on the 1.4, engine was hanging about an inch off of the ground and I got the same sort of clunk you are experiencing when I changed gear and pressed the clutch down. I'd get it jacked up and have a look if any of the bolts are loose or non-existent! My engine mount was spot welded by some numpty in the past and the actual bolts snapped in half.
