every now on then, since i've fitted a pipercross air filter (panel) at any time after driving, cold or hot, when i've been driving and then slow down to a stop, when depressing the clutch pedal, the revs drop, and then bounce back, between 400-1100 (max and min range) or it'll cut out all together.

i've cleaned the throttle body, and that's not cured it, i only run it on V-power.

i'll check the plugs tomorrow, but the leads and coil are fine, as is the dizzy

it's a k-reg (1992) OBD1

any help would be awesome

cheers

Chris

yeah the ISV is a metal circular bit to the right of the throttle body as you look at the engine mate unclip the sensor and then you can take it out and clean it - use electrical contact cleaner or throttle body cleaner spray it in and make sure the valve moves freely - as for the throttle position sensor not sure how you can check it best bet would be to find another VR and swop it over to see if it makes a difference.

i might also add the car is running rich as fook at the moment' date=' AND it hesitates a bit lowdown

tbh mate that does sound very similar to the prob I had which turned out to be the throttle position sensor causing the idle issue loss of power and it was running rich as well - as said if you can grab another thottle body or just the sensor of a mate you can bung it on yours and see what happens :)

that's the stage I'm at. Same symptoms even after changing ISV for a brand new one.

The TPS of the 16Ver luckily fits the later TB I have hanging around. Only prob is getting the current one off :-(

I did notice whilst fettling that if I unplug the TPS it is very erratic and often stalls. However it then runs a bit better when I reconnect it as if the ECU knows not to 100% believe the signals it's getting. When I clear the error the hunting starts again.
