My first VR project - help!

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

After advertising my VR6 on here, ive now decided that im gonna keep it and throw my loan money and savings into making it my own project. However, im still learning about the VR6 engine and just need some guidance on where to start.

First question, Im going to invest in a Schrick inlet manifold. I know Stealth sell them but at a nice hefty price too, Ill spend that much if I have to but are there any other places that I can look? Im reluctant about buying a 2nd hand one because I want everything mint, so I guess im kinda stuck. Im guessing the car also needs a re-map after?

Secondly, what's the difference between the Schrick 263's, 264's and 268's? And which ones are better to get? Im not putting a turbo or anything like that on my car, Im only looking to get about 210-220bhp with the inlet manifold and a nice remap...for now ;)

Third thing on my juicy list are some 17" Schmidt TH Lines, I want the car slammed but not so low that it'll need airride! What's the best suspension kit to get and how far can I lower it before it starts getting stupid? As in, I dont want the car to rub with 4 people in it. Ive also got a heavy sub thats going in the boot.

Any tips and suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks

If you gonna stay then worth joining up there bud as a premium member. there are a few threads on here so if you do a search you'll get answers however,

40mm is low and usable but speed humps need a special approach. as you would expect the 268s are there for the reving of and therefore more BHP..

Hi,

Cams variations are dependant on what sort of output ur after.. the 268's are probably the most useable if ur staing n/a, anything lairyer will make tickover a little lumpy (but i like that..), lower rated cams are more for f/i engines like turbos and chargers.

As RCF said, join up to premium and milk the forum for info :)
