VWC 0
13mm or 1/2" 12pt socket to remove/fitwhen fitting best to use a buzzer type torque wrench than click one so you dont put as much impact on them and use arp assembly grease
golfrabbit33 0
most kind vwc. that should be the first set of bolts out of the way. i hope it gets easier from here in. this is my first attempt at this kind of thing, and is quite scary.
cabrioman 6
when u torque them down do them in stages dont do the final torque all in one hit .... do half the torque setting in the correct order then do the final torque after that ... if that makes sense ??? golfrabbit33 0
when u torque them down do them in stages dont do the final torque all in one hit .... do half the torque setting in the correct order then do the final torque after that ... if that makes sense ??? i get ya tony, thanks for advice, have now got the top half off, how many head bolts can there possibly be then finally off it came.from what is visible, there is no damage to cylinders thank god, so tommorow i will try to get the pistons down through the bottom end to replace rings and clean up what i can. before anyone says, they have to come through the bottom because of the oversized rods below them wont fit upwards. any tips on opening the bottom half to get at pistons. all help welcomed. pleased with myself so far though, first attempt and three hours later, many bits in trays and the block in half. i will take some pics tmorra and post on this thread. many thanks to sparks for technical advise to get me to this stage.
