goldievrvan 0
right basically im having my engin rebulit and need new pistons but at the same time want to lower my compression for my supercharger by using a spaced gasket (9;1 ratio).if i were to get low compression pistons could i cancel out gettin thegasket and head studs?2birds with 1 stone kinda thing?and if yes i can what pistons are advised???PLEASE HELP ASAP ??????THANKS
craggsy 91
wont need spacer plate but still best get ARPs mate.Pistons will depend on budget and what compression you wanna drop it to. Read Kev Haywires turbo build thread as he goes on about various pistons in that
FishWick 21
Yeah as above really, but bear in mind the head gaskets are now the thin metal layered type, which raises compression half a point. So to get 9:1, you would need 8.5:1 pistons.
Kelster 0
Kev, so what you are saying is, if you took the head off, replaced the gasket and put it back on my compression would then be 10.5 ?
FishWick 21
Thereabouts, yep.
