Antihero1981 8
if you going to rebuild it i would spec it up for a charger or turbo , if the engine is out you might as well do it....saves money in the long run

Saunders82 0
im in the same boat at the minute ive taken my vr6 off the road and running around in a cheapo seat diesel to get some money for the next build im going planning on going turbo and im saving up for pistons and roads from http://www.performanceenginecomponents.com/default.asp[/linka] getting some head work done from a company called all stage in brackleyI'm going to buy some arp head studs.im using a mk5 r32 sump and oil pump with a mk2 sump shield from america as well so i dont get into the same problem ive just had!! Metal head gasket (which i have the geniune part number for )the rest off it im going to get geniune mainly because i can buy at cost due to working there there the only things im sure about at the minute but i think that covers most of the bases interms off making a strong engine But its nots a cheap engine to buy bits for in anyway shape or form(im talking geniune parts compared to other engines in the group ie 1.8t or even bits for the the new 2.0 tfsi) you really need to work out your budget before you startas a guide i would budget to be save £750 -£ 1000 for parts alone before thinking about upgrade parts i spent the good part off £800 in geniune parts it all up soo quickly !
