Thundertiger 0 Posted April 14, 2009 Report Share Posted April 14, 2009 Hi All I have just bought a 95 VR6 auto and its brill apart from a gearbox problem.When you go to pull away it will sometimes stay in neutral, if you then press the brake pedal (may be coincedence) you can then pull away normally ?? (if you pull up say to a space stop go fron drivr to reverse it may not go into gear untill i touch the brake pedal)Also some times it will go into 4th a bit hard under normall accelleration ??Apart from the above it is very smooth and under hard accelleration it never slips or misses a gear. Could it be low on gearbox oil ????Also does anybody know were i can get a manual for the engine and box ?? (so i can check the gear oil)Thanks for any helpDave... Link to post Share on other sites
Antihero1981 8 Posted May 24, 2009 Report Share Posted May 24, 2009 i think checking gear oil is ab it hard to do as my understanding it was a sealed unit and only need refilling after a few 1000;s miles ect....when i drive my auto i usually have to put the foot brake on then select gear , or are you just trying to change gear without the foot brake?
