Ive looked at the prices of steering racks and they range from £90 to £225. Has anyone had experience in replacing the steering rack - if so how much did you pay?Ta. Link to post Share on other sites

I'm not bothering to change it though..But You can pick them up on ebay fairly often as many VR's and Golf in general seem to be being broken..Im sure that last one went for £50...After a convo with a mate on here, we discovered that the steering racks are all the same from all PAS Golfs...A 1.4 one is the same as a VR6.. MarkGolf 6 Posted November 4, 2004 Report Share Posted November 4, 2004 Werid, maybe an adjustable one or something..Im not sure of the ins and outs, but I definetly had it confirmed that my 1.4 one was the same as a VR6 one, thats why im not chnging mine over..Further evidence was that the steering ratios were identical...I t was thought that the VR6 would have quick ratio steering compared to the 1.4, but they were identical..
