twoscoops 0
Hi GuysWhen I reverse my rear brakes seem to be giving of a deep squeal when I am stopping. I also noticed that my ABS light stayed on for some of my trip home today. After I stopped for a while and then started the engine again it wasnt on. Any thoughts?Cheers
Big J 283
i get the reverse noise too mate, i just puttin it down to worn rear brakes. also hearing it when brakng and steering at the same time. car stops so im ignoring it for now lol. as for abs, they do sonetimes throw a wobbler and have a fit, if it resets when the ignition is turned off and on again i wouldnt worry too much. not least until the light is on constant. when i get an abs fault on a truck, some systems have a reset sequence of getting the wagon rolling, and swith it off, allowing it to freewheel (on the yard not on the road..), then start it back up again, still rolling. this resets the abs ECU. might be worth a try. like i said whe the light is on all the time, thats when you need to get it checked out. most likely to be a momentary pulse loss, i.e somethings got in the way of the sensor, or its lost its signal. dont quote me on it, just a thought. twoscoops 0
Thanks mate, yeah i am going to have a look at the pads at the weekend and check whether they are ok. Its just embarassing when your reversing and it sounds like a pig squealing! Cheers for the info about the abs, the light seems to have gone off now so I will leave it for a while. gavinvr6 0
i had a similar problem, it turned out to be sticking sliders on the calipers, these are 20 mins a side to pull out clean up and re-grease with copper slip then put back together, but check the little bellows for splits as they will just let in water and ruin ya hard work
twoscoops 0
Thats what I was planning to do one of these weekends. They were changed not that long ago and I think that some grease may do the trick!
