sparkyjr 0 Posted January 31, 2009 Report Share Posted January 31, 2009 I am getting a judder when engaging 1st gear and reverse, when you engage 1st with hood up you can see movement on the engine which makes me think its the mounts but want to be sure ie engine or gear box.How can you tell, if it is this any recommendations for a 2.9 in a mk3. Get someone to put it in first gear and lift the clutch up and down (like you would if your racing someone at traffic lights to make the front of your car go up and down if that makes sence) While there doing that look at your mounts to see if thats excessive movent and check them to see if there broken/ damagedAs above if your gearbox one looks like that its shafted Hope that helps tom Link to post Share on other sites

Sometimes covered by a metal heat shield plate. this one usually gets left as it's a bit awkward to change.Kevin Link to post Share on other sites
