Hey guys my name is nate and i'm new to the forum

I've owned my '95 OBDI vr for 7 months now and love every second of it :-d

but after reading the specs i've seen the car should do a 0-100km/h time of 7.6 seconds which sounds fantastic yet i can only manage a best of 10 seconds *-) and top speed i can barely manage hitting 220km/h :-(

Is there something wrong with the car or is it the driver !?

Plz guys ur help is much appreciated

7.2 is the official 0-60mp/h time but 0-100km/h is a fraction longer, i want to purchase a VAGCOM but how do i know which one is the right one to get for my car, I've seen plenty different code readers and am confused about which one to actually get for my car. Where is the best place to get one bearing in mind i stay in South Africa

either you have a poorly vr mate or you cant drive lol. seriously though get it on vagcom at a local vw or garage. vagcom will help. try giving the engine the once over. check plugs leads coilpack any sensors for dodgy connections all that kind of stuff. a 10 second vr is seriously off, a standard vr is 0-62 (100kmh) in 7.2 seconds and should give a real hard kick, and pull all the way to over 6000rpm quickly and without any problems. a standard vr should still make 8 seconds no probs. im not sure what 220kmh is but my standard vr made 145mph(speedo reading), which i think is pretty respectable for a 1993 car with 136,000 miles. also do you have any heavy items in the boot or does this time include passengers?
