How do you rate these coilovers? Was thinking of buying them.

Can't say I have ever used them or heard of anyone who has :-(

Most people go for FK Highsports or Konigsport. . .

They are about twice the price of the Janspeed though and the Konigsports even more !

Depends what you are after ?

If all you are looking for is a way to slam the car as cheaply as possible then yes I would say they are worth a shot.

If however you want good handling and better ride comfort then I would say no. . .

It's all budget dependant I suppose :-)

Ok so ive managed to source some second hand fk highsports, being secondhand is there anything i should be worried about?

Ive heard rumours that these seize up is this true?

I think this set is about 2yrs old?

i would bother with second hand ones, fk's have bein know to seize after a few years

hope you value your teeth coz my mate had a set of those on a mk2 valver they were so hard the car was nearly undrivable

Really that bad aye, i thought they were firm but not that firm?

So it is really true then they do seize i just thought this was an ongoing debate?

Fair enough, I'm not the most impartial guy on this subject (since I'm the one selling them), but these shocks are no where near seized. In fact the shocks themselves have a smoother action than the originals I took off.

As for a bumpy ride, sure, it's not the soft wallowy ride that the car comes set up with but it is far from undrivable. In fact, I've nevr enjoyed the car more!. I live in Edinburgh so cobbles and speed bumps are everywhere and they were perfectly okay for my tastes.

So, why have I taken them off I hear you ask? Well, it's a combination of pressure from girlfriend (didn't like how it looked) and the practical problem that you can't take any kind of lowered car off road (I do a lot of mountain biking and have to negotiate a lot of landrover tracks to get to ride locations).

Either way, whether Jonnyboy82 decides to go for mine or not, I'd definitely recommend the FKs to anyone.

If there not seized then there not seized, you only need to adjust them once really, Ive herd alot of people say mine seize but they lasted 3 years without seizing, Now there protected with motor bike chain lube so should be fine

Mine (supersports) are very bumpy, Id say more bumpy than FKs but i like it, So do all my mates,, My dad hates it tho, Def a BIG BIG improvident over standard but its not a £700 koni race spec suspension, Nor did i expect it to be costing me £250

So i bought these thanks dude (ip) am awaiting delivery and i am really confused as to what else i need to buy to fit these, apparently there is some bolts, mounts or something?

I dunno im baffed. :S

you need top mounts, front and rear, and as long as you dont drop it silly the ride is fine, and at 140+ when you still have the confidence to carry on going you wont worry so much about the ride at lower speeds, the car drives like how v.w should have made it, and not like the titanic changing direction.
