MarkGolf 6
Can I simply replace that big mess with an oil breather as in the above pic??
binliner 0
yesyou'll also need to block the hole in the big intake pipe and replace the small hose that runs from the manifold (near the TB) to the little valve thing (forgotten what its called)
acf8181 0
i wouldn't mount the filter the way it is in that pick, a friend did that on his mkII and it dripped oil onto the manifolds...not good. try and mount it upright.what little tube are you on about binliner? don't think it has anything to do with oil breather. neither does the ISV. binliner 0
the little tube I mean connects to the oil breather... its the one that goes from the manifold, over the top of the breather with a bit that branches off and joins into it. does that make sense?I didnt mention the ISV! binliner 0
oh the ISV is in the title isnt it!
acf8181 0
ok, that small hose must be an obd2 only thing, as i don't have one. the bigger hose that comes out the cam cover just goes straight to the intake. i believe mark has a 'rado obd1 engine, so all he needs to do is bung up the hole in the intake and pop on the oil cooler thingy.yep, the ISV bit threw me...whats that about mark? binliner 0
oh and I attached my breather filter to a length of hose and run it out of the way so it wouldnt drip and to try and avoid fumes
