sticks 0
hi all yet another problem with my vr,was gonna do a coolant change today to me car as the water is still abit custurdy after having me autobox replaced,as i was digging around to undo the coolant pipe i managed to snap the pipe connector block ,i dont know the actual name for it .one other thing i noticed was i undone the water filler cap but the engine was to warm so before any water came up i quickly tturned it shut ,but it seemed to come out through another hole in the bottle there was a fair bit ,is there an overflow hole or somthing as it has got me thinking somthing else is wrong,or would this be normal behavior thanks for any help heres a couple of pics of the offending part, IMG]http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m311/michelleandmorgan/Photo-0187.jpg
Bobtrude 0
The broken part does normaly break, dont know the exact name of it but here is a link where they sell an uppgraded one in alu. http://www.gruvenparts.com/website/cart/THere is an "overflow hole" in the expansion tank witch sends the water out behind the black lid that says G12 (or G11). This function keeps the hoses form breaking. WHy it went off in your car i dont know, maybe you just couldnt screw the lid on propperly because of the pressure, and it just leaked out of the hole. jesterwalker69 0
Mine always leaks out the over-flow hole. Fooking annoying after spending a day polishing the bay for a show only to get there and find one corner white with coolant! And no, its not over-filled before any suggests it lol
sticks 0
got that part today and fitted it earlier sorted!but i still seem to be getting loads of water chucking up out of the overflow intermitantly and if i keep losing this much i will av none left so it getting quite worrying, vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhnother problem 6,
jims13 6
bet you have a airlock, even if they are meant to self bleed..try leaving the cap off overnight and i bet the water level drops, if it does top it up and put the cap back on

VR6_Absy 0
VagCom won't help you.You could have a sticky thermostat or need a new header cap seal causing the coolant to boil over.
