vealige 0
Well another great show with scorching weather all weekend. All of us that were there certainly worked on our tan's or burns more like. Shed loads of cars there and certainly a very big and good fun venue 8) I set off on early Friday afternoon from Plymouth with me and my other ginger brother/R32 guard whilst on show and bumped into another fellow dubber on the way to BVF so we decided to convoy there. I saw 3 Aircooled wagons broken down on the 110 mile trip there. One on a low loader at Exeter, one with its pikey occupants on the side of the motorway and pool of oil under the engine. The other in Gordano services 3.5 miles from the show looking poorly with steam coming from the engine. Did actually feel sorry for the latter as they made it pretty much there At one point I did see a bus doing more then 50-60 but I think this was downhill with the wind behind it As much as I like the Aircooled stuff I have yet to go to any VW show and not see one broken on the side of the road. Even saw one at PVF and that event was 3 miles from my house! God bless H20 I guess From there I waited for the rest of VR6 crew to leave plym so stuck around with some familiar faces Where a trip to tescos was called for plenty of Cider, Beer and Burgers... Was nice to also put a name to a face SI off this site. With the rest of the VR6 lot arriving it was time to move to our club stand and set up shop, had a lovely massive pitch The screen was then reserected and then put to good use projecting VW films, Top Gear and the Simpsons. This was all because someone forgot to bring the sensor for the Wii I personally don't see the appeal but plenty of idiots do in bringing a mountain bike/bmx to a car show and then riding around in the dark on them where there are guide ropes etc to trip you up or in our example close line you off your bike making you look an even bigger twat then you do riding around on a bike This slight problem cause the sheet to come down so Dave who was suitably largered up got on toni's shoulders and fixed it The dismount was quite spectacular and head first into the ground causing blood to be spilt. But Sal and Martin were too the rescue with a box of tissues. The usual beer, BBQ and music went on into the night until we all eventually buggered off to sleep when we all needed shut eye.Saturday started early when some god dam baby crying its head off woke probably half the campsite up. But the weather was awesome and on with the BBQ's again for more bacon etc.... Our resident school teacher/drug dealer/style guru couldn't stop teaching even on the weekend here he is teaching our young the facts of life All of the VR's and a R32  lined up on our club campsite.Gary fitting his new shiny number plates. He had everything even a power drill on this trip And the finished articleThere was also a Daily Driver Show and Shine split into many different catagories. Well done to Sal for winning the Best Wheel competition and Gary for best interior beating the black Transporter and so it should as the Xbox kept me entertained for quite some time on Need For Speed was great fun sat in the car playing it . Both well deserved. Commiserations to JK, I think we all felt your pain. We did certainly hear about it anyway From there on it was a day full of the usual pisstaking which is what its all about. By then it was well past beer o'clock and most were well on the way to being socially lubricated. JK and I went for a wonder round the campsite and I took plenty of photo's. Britol VW had loads of new cars on show the Pirelli Golf GTI is not to my taste but the RRR line up was good. The R50 is massive, the MK5 R32 is clearly not as good as a MK4 R32 and the R32 Passat was amazing. Such a lovely car to sit in and should be a cracker Matt giving us a MOOOOOB pose On the Sat morning Martin went back home and got the sensor for the Wii so this meant on Sat night we had the Wii up and running. Amazing how a sheet and a Wii can attract soooo many people to our pitch but it certainly prooved popular and great fun. I am allegedly a geek as I I stayed on too long for "winner stays on." Main thing was I beat an 8 year old a boxing Clearly if you go camping you need a sheet, a Wii, a power converter and a MK3 TDI as a generator to have loads of fun like we did Sunday started very much the same as Saturday morning. BBQ, bacon etc... Today was the proper show and shine with plenty of new cars turning up just to show. I tried not to take pics of stuff that was at Plymouth and tbh most of the Aircooled stuff was and over the last few weeks I have seen enough aircooled I did find my love for Karmann Ghias come flooding back when I saw a few mint ones on show 8) 8) Anyway here are my pics and there were loads of high quality cars in the Show and Shine. I have no idea what won what as I left quite early to get home in time for a Roast 8) 8) Met up with loads of local dubbers and nice to see you all there. I do love the Matrix paintwork on this 8) I had a nice chilled out drive home with possibly the cheesiest playlist ever playing on my Ipod and I caught myself singing to Chesney Hawkes - One and Only (choon 8) ) but was nice to be passing loads of VW's with them all waving and flashing. Thanks to all those there for another great weekend and to those who missed it Bristol is an awesome chilled out show worth the journey.Note the clubstand having its own paid for Portaloo which was ours was possibly the best thing ever after experiencing some frightful sights/smells at PVF
