does a vr have an outside temp sensor that displays on dash ,

hi all,well avin a fiddle with the dash display and when i get to outside 0c it just skips quick,

do vrs have this function as my mk4 caddy does,

anyone know where the sensor is if so ,so i can see if its fecked,

It does have this function, if the display is skipping through it, this normally means the sensor isnt found. Check to see if the sensor is there, and the wiring is in good condition.

The sensor is a little grey one in the lower front bumper grill, airbox side

What else do you need to know? far left number on the climatronic display is outside temp

and the big one on the right side is what you use to set the inside temp.

Is yours showing both numbers? if not then you need go hunt to see if you sensor is still there.

i only seem to get temp on right which is output temp into car from climatronic unit,

are the outside sensors all in the same place on all vr's,ive a 97/8 spec

Think so, look at plastic mesh thingie under the bumper on the drivers side you should see a grey plastic nipple sticking out....if not then take out the grill and have a look inside.

hi all ,i went exploring today in me bumper vent and found the sensor unplugged ,plugged in and now the temp displays in the clima screen,thanks guys for all your help.

is the sensor located in the lower grill or is it just hanging down? if its loose in the engine bay you'll think your living in the carribean!
