cliveyp 0
I have read/seen that the standard speakers in the doors and rear cards are 17cm. I'm looking at replacing mine soon and wondering what people are using. I'm looking at the Infinity 6500CS components but these are only 16.5cm (but the holes seem to be slotted so hopefully they'll fit) anyone have any opinions?
Nerih 0
think i read in the golf + that infinity (or was it rainbow?) actually made speakers for the Golfs (acoustically designed etc etc)...so i think it'll fit in nicely.

Eat this 2
will they handle 75 watts rms cuz mine smell baaaaaaad when i turn it up and the sound is horrible at big volume they r sweet as fook ob headunit/lower power though hehe
Nerih 0
speakers will distort when not powered properly. Burning is usually associated with high powered amp's pouding low powered speakers. Also check the resistance across the speakers and make sure your head unit/amp can handle it. Nerih 0
basically, you can listen to music at high power outputs (until of course you hit the speaker max, at which point they lose electrical efficiency...and blow up LOL) Always handy to know that you can blow your speakers by having1. too much power + high vol2. too little power + high volmoral of the story is...DONT USE HIGH VOL . Nerih 0
rainbow planinums are excellent. most of the expensive component sets are very good nowadays but of course shine when matched with their respective amplifiers, crossovers and most importantly equalisers (the bit most people forget!!!!!), how people manage to get a decent sound plane in a square metal shell (i.e car) is beyond me .
