cliveyp 0
I was having a look over mine the other day and decided to look at the aerial as my radio reception is shit! It has a Sony 730 something or other head unit in it and it looks to be that the aerial amp lead is connected into the ISO block on its own. Can't remember what lead from the headunit that it is connected to now!! Am i right in thinking that the amp lead is just a live connection? Should i try connecting it to the switched live wire to see if it makes it any better?I also checked at the back end to make sure it was all OK and i was surprised to pull the roof lining down and find a chuufing great box screwed to the roof with Hirschmann (sp?) written on it. Seems to be a combined phone/radio aerial. Standard?? Is it possible to take the mast off and replace it with a short one that i have coz it doens't seem to unscrew (althought it looks like it should!)? Where am i likely to find the other end of the phone lead? Is it any good?Cheers!
tandino 1
The aerial power output lead from the stereo is usually pure blue in colour - obviously on the power connector block not the speaker block. As for the aerial just connect it to a switched live if you cant find the aerial switching wire from the stereo....Pete.
