bensvr6 0 Posted May 11, 2008 Report Share Posted May 11, 2008 Hi all im new on here so hello all, ive just purchsed a golf vr6 highline, ive only done 11 mile in her before she decided not to start again, Just got in turned the key "nothing", so i took the ignition barrel off had that checked and replaced with a new switch, put it back on the car still nothing, removed the cat 1 alarm as i thought it could be something there, still nothing, took the starter motor off and stuck it on a battery and that works fine, the car will bump and drive fine just nothing off the key, i have found that the little power wire on the starter is getting no power, Checked all the fuses, all good, any ideas? bensvr6 0 Posted May 12, 2008 Author Report Share Posted May 12, 2008 It`s sorted now, took it to an electrician to check it out for me, ended up being a dodgy second hand ignition switch that was at fault, all sorted now though, well worth £20, time to drive her now, thanks for the replys anyway lads.
