cawoodni01 0
The engine on my '96 VR seems really sluggish up to 4k rpm. I got overtaken by my mates 1.9hdi Peugeot today. Just doesn't seem to be as blistering as a VR6 should be. Could this be solved by some new plugs and replacing the MAF sensor or could it be something else, any help would be appreciated, cheers guys
xyber 1
Clean the maf with electrical contact spray, new plugs and leads, check the intake pipe isnt split etcAll things worth doing anyway, might aswel do the oil at the same timeIf that fails, best to get it on vag comBTW if you know someone with vag com so wont cost you anything do that first
cawoodni01 0
Yeah I was looking into new plugs and leads but thanks yeah i'll have a look into the other stuff but unfortunately don't know anyone with VAG com. Ill see if the plugs etc sort it out and try vag com if it persists

xyber 1
you'll probably find a good service will sort it, VRs dont like old oil and can be sketchy with old plugs and leadsCheck out the guide into cleaning the cam/hall sensor aswel in the downloads section
