nivag27 5 Posted April 4, 2008 Report Share Posted April 4, 2008 This has probably been asked brfore but I could not find it so here goes,If I am using smoothrite to paint my calipers what is the best way to go about it and what stuff do I need to clean them. Devildub_06 0 Posted April 5, 2008 Report Share Posted April 5, 2008 You can use a proprietary aerosol brake cleaning agent being careful not to allow it to get into contact with the caliper seals as it is quite aggressive. If you're worried that it might, squirt some into the lid and use a paint brush dipped in the cleaner to clean the calipers. Rinse off and key with a bit of scotchbrite, and as per sankys give 2 coats leaving plenty of drying time between. That's how i've done mine in the past and they come out great.
