Starting Problems

I fitted splitfire plugs on my Corrado 2.9 1995 it was running fine i parked it come back half an hour later i started it heard a bang or missfire now it will turn over but wont idle i changed back to the orignal plugs but it did not solve the problem it will turn over and if i rev the engine a little it trys to run but soon dies

any information would be appreciated

Probably coincidence as your original plugs didn't work. Start with basic diagnostics like is there a spark at the plugs? (easiest way is to remove a lead at a time, put one of your spare plugs in, hold it against and earth with insulated pliers as you get someone to turn it over if it's a dizzy, if it's coilpack put spare plug in one connector at a time and repeat the above procedure), can you hear ticking from the injectors when turning over? Is the fuel pump running etc?

thanks for the reply the fuel pump is running the engine will run if i give it some revs but it dont sound healthy then cuts out when i stop i tried a new coil pack but it made no diffrence

yeah just sounds like a coincidence .....so it ran after u fitted the new plugs u left it then it all went funny yeah?? ... i had a smilaur thing and it was the hose on the throttle body had come / spilt .... just try basics to start with got fuel, air and spark ....
