Damo 85 0
hi guys.my vr6 highline is a 96 P reg, no plastic arches / trim, newer indicators, plastic engine cover, check engine light on the cluster etc etc.Approx first use was december 96 so its a late 96 reg. All of which i took to believe its an OBD2.when i went to VW for a new chain tensioner bolt they put my reg in and said its the older engine and gave me the old, oil pressure fed bolt not the sprung one form OBD2. very confused. can anyone help me LOL

craggsy 91
My car is October 96 and is an OBD2.If it's fast then it's an OBD2 (flame suit on) :-p seriously though if your engine number starts AAA it's an OBD2 I hope you're joking with that advice?Like I say whats the engine number
jezmoz 0
see here chap...just beacuse it's obd2 doesn't mean it has the later upper tensioner and single chain. But the upper tensioner bolt that is off the later obd2 can be used on either. obd1 or obd2 engine (double or single chain). You'd be better replacing the upper chain tensioners as well for the all plastic non rivet tensioners.
