Tensioner Noise from my VR6 S/C -

Hi,

I think I know the answer to this but I wanted to get some feedback first.

I've got a VR S/C Z engineering charger fitted. I've not drove the car for around 6 weeks. I told it out for a spin today and noticed that there's a squeal from the drive belt area when I accelerate. It seems to be fine when the engine is idling.

I've given the belt/pulley near the fuel rail a quick spray with WD40 and the noise seemed to stop but after about 30 seconds it came back again,

I've read the posts on the tensioner replacement but I'm not sure if it's fitted on mine due to the S/C.

Any help or advice would be great

it's most likely the bearing in the tensioner maybe stripping it and giving it some proper grease might help. looks like u don't have a standard tensioner to me

more like the belt is slack,have you tightened it?

No, I've not done anything to it yet. Thinking about taking it to Stealth for them to have a look at it.

the belt will be slack,my VF used to screetch whn you bliped the throttle and it was all down to the belt..

I've had a look today and the noise has quietened down especially when hot. I can only hear a squeal when I rev the car and it's not as load as before.

I'll try it again when it's cold
