sam 0
Does anyone have one of these or know if the front strut brace fits ok on a Golf with air-con? Does anything else need to be moved to make it fit?Would be interested to hear opinions of what the quality is like tooCheersSam
six appeal 53
I believe you need to bend the pipes of the aircon system a bit to get this particular one to fit. I wanted one too as they look very well made, but this put me off it and having seen a few on cars with the pipes bent I didn't like the idea myself. So I took it upon myself, with the help of a mate to make one up for myself. (in fact I made a pair as Mangold wanted one too, lol) Even in doing this it was a hard task as still had to make a bracket to move the water bottle header tank, so as to enable top removal and use the thickness of bar I wanted to have. sam 0
The Stroeve one is one of the best looking one's i've seen - but like you say, I don't fancy having to start bending the aircon pipework to get it to fitAre there any other makes around that fit straight on? VR6Steve 0
Mine has an Eibach one fitted. The aircon pipe has been slipped out the clips and cable tied to the strut brace, so I guess very little bending was required if any?
andy 0
Looks aside, do strut braces provide much better handling? Seen an OMP strut brace for about £50...any good?
